News - September 20, 2005.  EMI Announcement.  "EMI Clients Receive CDBG Grants awarded by Governor Sonny Purdue and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs."

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs provides a variety of community development programs to help the state’s communities realize their growth and development goals.   One of these programs is the availability Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds whose annual recipients recently included the City of Clayton and Lincoln County.  Both of these local communities were guided through the planning and grant application process by Engineering Management, Inc. (EMI).

After performing extensive research regarding environmental considerations for the affected areas, EMI provided the Preliminary Engineering Report and cost estimates for these projects.  Door-to-door surveys were conducted to prove low and moderate income demographics per grant application requirements.  Additional services performed by EMI included preparation of population forecasts and project schedules, aid in obtaining permits, and coordinating efforts to gain consent with the Georgia EPD.
