Water and Wastewater Engineering Services

Engineering Management, Inc. has contracted with The City of Jefferson for water and wastewater and general engineering for over 25 years. EMI has successfully implemented over 25 projects for the City including two major wastewater treatment facility expansion programs, four wastewater collection system projects and three major water system expansion programs.

EMI is working with the City in connection with a 4 MGD water reservoir including land acquisition and COE permitting.  Additionally, has completed two major sanitary sewer projects to address long term sewer collection system needs and excess infiltration and inflow into the northern sectors of the sewer system.

The north wastewater treatment facility was expanded. Funding procurement for the project was administered by EMI with assistance from the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority. EMI also manages the sampling, analysis, compliance and reporting for the ongoing watershed protection program.

EMI is also responsible for the City’s water and sewer standards and is the Town’s delegation of review Engineers for the review of water and sewer extensions to the system.

EMI also maintains water and sewer system as-built drawings using GIS based shape files and a hydraulic model of the water and sewer systems.
EMI has also successfully operated the Central City WWTF since 2004.
