City of Canon, Franklin County, Georgia-Evaluations
2004 - 0.1 MGD groundwater system. Principals were involved in evaluating the City’s two ground water wells and slow sand filtration system. The City’s water system had extremely high levels of iron and manganese as well as low pH with corrosive properties. EMI completed a cost analysis and evaluated the benefits of replacing the antiquated filtration system and connecting to a neighboring water utility. EMI proposed and assisted the City installing an interconnection with the Franklin County water system allowing the City to obtain a safe water supply allowing them to significantly reduce the customer complaints related to the ground water wells.
